Aim: This exercise is aimed to provide some reading practice and to enhance your knowledge of basic Western dining etiquette.

Introduction: To answer the multiple choice questions you need to visit sites on the web and read the texts there. Note that the sites that you need to look at are all North American. Whilst there may not be very large differences between European (especially UK) etiquette and North American practices there are some. As far as the these sites go I think that the largest difference may well be in terms of attitudes to smoking and alcohol, with many Europeans being rather more tolerant, although smoking is rapidly becoming less acceptable. Some of the terminology connected with food can be very different.
