This page has been set up to provide some extra help for my CityU Fundamentals of Communication classes.

 

Welcome to the course! As I said in the lesson I think that a problem most of you will have is the level of vocabulary in the text book. To help with this we are going to do some vocabulary study in every lesson and we started with a few common words. To help you revise them you could try to do the crossword puzzle the I wrote based on some of the vocabulary that came up in the first lesson. There is a five minute time limit, then you have to start again. Click here to go to the crossword puzzle "Basic Communication Vocabulary (1)".

You can also test how you remember some of the most important concepts from the lecture by seeing if you can recreate Devito's Definition of Communication. (The definition contains many of the most important ideas involved in communication studies, so you should be able to do it.) Click here to go to the exercise. There is a six minute time limit.

For more vocabulary help to revise some vocabulary from the second lesson you could try to do the "Mix and Match" exercise I have put up. There is an eight minute time limit, then you have to start again. Click here to go to the "Mix and Match" exercise "Basic Communication Vocabulary (2)".
