Process of Creating

To make Ben's James Cook pages we started of doing some more general research on the Internet. Ben chose James Cook to write about because "he went a long way". Then we searched the web using Yahooligans for some sources of information on Cook. We tried to get an overall picture and made some rough notes. We also saved some pictures to use. As in the rest of the project I did the typing and Ben told me what to write, although we did negotiate some of the sentences and the organisation. After we had the rough notes we evolved some headings. More complex processes like this often involved me asking Ben a lot of questions to help him refine his thoughts. We examined our web sources to see how they had organised their content. Finally we wrote the text for these pages, I put the structure together, demonstrating a lot of the process to Ben so he was able to see something of how to put a web site together. James Nicoll |
